Züri Escape - the bikepacking gravel event

On Friday morning, 50 women and 50 men take on the challenge of overcoming 420 km and 10,000 meters of altitude.

Züri Escape is a self-supported bikepacking gravel event that starts on Friday at 6:00 am in Brunau as part of Cycle Week. The route covers 420 km and 10'000 vertical meters through breathtaking landscapes. The Escape offers adventure, challenge and fun on a gravel bike. Participants need physical endurance, mental strength and strategic planning.

Route

A detailed scouted 420 km loop to and from Zurich. So close to the city, but still far out in nature. Züri Escape takes you through magnificent landscapes, dreamy forests, mystical moorland, abandoned tunnels and dark caves. At two checkpoints manned around the clock, participants will always find an open ear for the best stories from the road.

Presentation of the cantonal mountain bike strategy - by IG MTB ZH
In December, after two years of work, the Zurich cantonal government approved the cantonal mountain bike concept. The aim is to create an attractive, safe and needs-based offer. The basis is the shared use of paths: mountain biking is generally permitted on all paths shown on the Swisstopo map.
The contents of the 70-page strategy and the next steps will be presented by the Cycle Traffic Office at Cycle Week and questions will be answered afterwards.

The Cargobike Battle is the powerful highlight on the short track and is aimed exclusively at adults. This is where riding technique, brains and muscle power meet - packed into a spectacular knockout format. Wanted: 8 participants.

Small, brave and big on the road:
The race track belongs to the youngest bike fans at the Short Track Kidsrace by Kids&Co. At three races on Saturday and Sunday, the focus is on play, exercise and first racing moments - without any pressure to perform, but with lots of applause and beaming faces. Wanted: 60 children between 2 and 5 years old

Short Track FAST & CURIOUS - Folding Bike Battle
On your marks, get set, fold!
The Folding Bike Battle brings speed, technique and lots of fun to the Cycle Week short track. Four participants, one start signal, folded bikes on the track - and then every second counts: jump, unfold the folding bike, ride off. Improvisation, skill and nerves of steel are required. Wanted: 32 participants.

Emmi ENERGY MILK Rollensprint
Four days full of POWER: at the Emmi ENERGY MILK Rollensprint at Cycle Week Zurich, visitors compete against each other in action-packed sprint duels. In addition to attractive prizes, the celebrity roller sprint on Friday evening provides a special highlight, with well-known athletes such as Lia Wälti competing together with the audience.

Short Track Fast & Curious - Bicycle Catwalk Contest
Timekeeping? Nope.
The Bicycle Catwalk Contest at Cycle Week turns the short track into a rolling stage:
150 meters of asphalt. Endless attitude. The jury doesn't measure the time. It measures courage.
Wanted: 30 teams (1-3 people) who show that cycling can be more than just going fast in a straight line!
