BMX Flatland is the name of the discipline in which athletes perform tricks and stunts on a flat surface. Flatland requires balance, precision and creativity and is similar to dancing on a bike.
We have been organizing regular BMX Flatland contests since 2007. This long-standing continuity and the good contacts to the scene guarantee a first-class international field of participants. This year's participants include last year's winner Kio Hayakawa from Japan, last year's runner-up Alex Jumelin from France, 6-time world champion Viki Gomez from Spain and Dan Hennig, who lives in Zurich. The BMX Flatland Contest will be hosted by Marco Vetterli and the pumping sound will be provided by FJ Igore and Don8.
Red Bull Dance Your Style is a global event series that celebrates street dance in all its facets - with a unique battle format that takes place in over 52 countries. The dancers face a special challenge: they have to improvise to spontaneously selected tracks - the DJ decides live which music is played. Anything is possible, from classics to current hits. Whether hip-hop, house, locking or popping - individual style, expression and personality are required. Because the audience decides who wins in the end.
Dance meets BMX during Cycle Week: dancers and BMX Flatland athletes compete with and against each other in a spectacular show battle. Who wins this unique performance is up to the audience.
