Concept "Fair of the Future" has passed the test
The third edition of the national bicycle festival CYCLE WEEK depicted the versatility of the bicycle in all its facets. OC President Erwin Flury says: "I am delighted that so many people have actively engaged with the topic of cycling. I saw only beaming faces among the visitors." Newly, the offers were clearly defined: In the triangle Europaallee-Lagerstrasse-Kasernenstrasse, the exhibitors came to the people, to fans, curious people, visitors and passers-by. In the Brunau, cyclists actively visited the Velo-Uni, seeking knowledge, entertainment and tests.
Velo fans excellently served
The CYCLE WEEK EXPO exhibited important brands of the Swiss bicycle market. Exhibitors and tourism destinations present their innovations, their products and services for sports, leisure and everyday life. Their mountain bikes, gravel bikes, road bikes and e-bikes, their children's bikes, city and cargo bikes as well as accessories, accessories and bike travel. 110 exhibitors with 250 brands showed new trends and developments. 550 test bikes were available for test riding. Bernard Winterhalter, CEO Rose Bikes, says on behalf of many other exhibitors: "We are participating for the third time. For us, the test tracks for test rides here are brilliant. With the orders afterwards we are always very satisfied."
Political support
The city councilors Karin Rykart (Safety Department) and Simone Brander (Civil Engineering Department) visited the stand of the city of Zurich at CYCLE WEEK and discuss how the safety of cyclists can be increased. Government President Mario Fehr rode with cycling legends on 1923 bicycles from Winterthur to Zurich to ring in the campaign for the 2023 World Cycling Championships in Zurich.
Sporting highlights
On Europaplatz and Gustav-Gull-Platz, international BMX flatland athletes, break dancers and two-time Guinness World Record holder and trial mountain biker Tom Oehler showed their tricks. In Jumppark Sihlcity, the international ZÜRIDIRT CONTEST was held with female participation and local hero Lucas Huppert, who unfortunately injured his shoulder.

Many newly enrolled "Studis" in the Velo-Uni
In the CYCLE WEEK CAMPUS in the Brunau at the foot of the Uetliberg happened quite a lot at the same time: in the 150 workshops of the Velo-Uni participated over 2000 students! A new record. The workshops included riding technique courses, lectures and travel reports. For experienced riders, a test area was available and in the Transa Basecamp, in the Chillout and Grill Area, bike enthusiasts discussed and celebrated in a campfire atmosphere.
Everything for the families
Every day was family day with many attractions such as wheel course for the little ones, obstacle course and pump track, track stand, slow race and handbike and tandem simulators for the older ones.
